Answering all of your electric heating questions

ELKATHERM® FAQs

Why are ELKATHERM® radiators fluted?

ELKATHERM® fluted radiators offer 5-times the surface area to radiate heat and spread convected warmth.

The result is no cold spots, providing a silent, comfortable environment

What are ceramic core radiators?

Ceramic core radiators contain a heating element embedded into super dense ceramic fireclay.

This means there are no air gaps and they remain moisture-free.In practical use, the direct heat transfers from the heating element to fireclay for rapid heating.

How much energy will my radiators consume?

Once up to temperature your heater will typically draw between 15 and 17 minutes of electricity per hour to top up the core and maintain a constant temperature.

Are ELKATHERM® radiators complicated to control?

ELKATHERM® radiators offer fingertip control for efficiency, comfort, confidence and zero waste.

Once up to temperature, the smart radiators use minimal energy to maintain heat.  Fully controllable with your smart phone – or use the manual option

What are the most energy efficient radiators?

ELKATHERM® smart-core radiators are A++ energy rated, and can heat any home, any size, quickly and efficiently.

Once up to temperature the heater will typically draw between 15-17 minutes of electricity per hour to top up the core and maintain the ideal temperature.

What does complete control mean?

ELKATHERM heating systems allow you to control each room individually.

No heating rooms you don’t use and the smart radiators ensure better energy efficiency once rooms are at the right temperature.

Your heating can be controlled remotely using our latest smartphone app – so if your plans change, you can keep on top of energy consumption at home, wherever you are.

Does this mean you are more expensive that your competitors?

Luthmore Boilers FAQs

What is a Luthmore Boiler?

The Luthmore Boiler is a tankless, wall-mounted electric combi boiler powered by advanced Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries. It delivers up to 30kW of instant hot water and 10kW of central heating, fitting seamlessly into the space of a traditional gas boiler while using existing pipes and radiators.

What’s the benefit over a traditional heating system?

Luthmore offers zero-emission heating with lower running costs through cheap off-peak charging and solar integration, unlike gas systems reliant on fossil fuels. It installs with minimal disruption and  provides app-controlled energy tracking for smarter usage and savings.

Can Luthmore Boiler be used with solar?

Yes, but the optional Eastron meter needs to be fitted and connected. The boiler will watch for energy export and then begin charging once the export reaches 1.6 kW. A buffer of 100W is always allowed to be exported to prevent draining home-storage batteries. Wired and wireless options of the Eastron meter are available. An electrician will need to install the Eastron meter at your supply point.

What are Luthmore Boilers suitable for?

Luthmore boilers are perfect for homes, landlords and commercial businesses.

Are HeatElectric approved Luthmore Boiler installers?

Yes! HeatElectric’s experienced installation teams are approved expert Luthmore Boiler installers.
